South Africa Industrial & Automotive Products | Coastland Sales
At Coastland Sales, we don’t just believe in business, we believe in building a better South Africa. For us, that means investing in the people who will shape its future: our youth.
In a country where young people face significant barriers to employment, CLS understands the power of giving someone a real shot at gaining experience, building confidence, and stepping into the workforce equipped and empowered. That’s why we’ve committed ourselves to being part of the YES programme, and it’s a commitment we take seriously.
Over the last few years, Coastland Sales has proudly supported 69 YES4Youth candidates, offering them meaningful work experience across various departments within our business. From operations and logistics to admin, sales, and warehousing, these young talents were placed in real roles with real responsibilities.
CLS have also gone a step further, supporting an additional 10 learnership candidates every year, who are pursuing accredited qualifications while gaining hands-on work experience. These individuals don’t just sit in on the sidelines, they become part of our team, learning and contributing every step of the way.
Youth unemployment is one of South Africa’s greatest challenges, and it’s not just about numbers. It’s about the emotional and financial toll it takes on families, communities, and young people’s confidence in their own future.
At Coastland Sales, we see these young people not as statistics but as potential. When we welcome a YES candidate, we’re not offering charity, we’re offering a platform. A bridge between school and employment. A chance to gain practical knowledge, grow professional networks, and build soft skills like communication, time management, and critical thinking.
Many of our YES candidates have gone on to secure permanent positions, some even within our own company. Others have used the experience and recommendation letters from their time with us to land jobs elsewhere or start their own ventures. And while their paths may vary, the common thread is this: they leave more prepared than they came in.
That is the real return on investment.
We know that youth development doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It takes partnerships between business, government, and the community. We work closely with our supporting stakeholders to ensure that the candidates get the exposure and mentorship they need to succeed.
It’s not about ticking boxes. It’s about lifting people. It’s about equipping the next generation with the tools, mindset, and motivation to go out there and make their mark.
When we empower a young person, we’re doing more than helping one individual. We’re supporting families. We’re strengthening communities. We’re helping to create a workforce that’s ready for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
We’ve seen the ripple effect firsthand. Young people who walked in shy and unsure, walk out confident, skilled, and ready to lead. They take what they’ve learned and pass it on to their peers, to their younger siblings, to their communities.
That’s what transformation looks like.
Coastland Sales remains committed to the YES4Youth initiative and to youth empowerment in general. This is not a once-off effort. It’s a mindset. A culture. A responsibility we carry proudly.
Our doors are open and so are our hearts. We will continue to support, train, uplift, and invest in South Africa’s future, one young person at a time.
